The recent development of the Maxi-Flex suspension has pushed humanoid-shaped droids ahead by leaps and bounds, so to speak. This makes the droids more versatile, allowing them to go places that were previously too precarious.
With this new droid also comes the release of the XT-3 Humanoid Interface Module. This module is specifically designed to run those "pesky" little personallity subroutines that always come up. The benefit of this module is that the subroutines are more fluid and lifelike. One curious "side effect" of linking this module to the Korval RV-7 processor is that the droids running the two modules become even more "lifelike". In testing, one unit wanted to wear clothing because of the subroutines that it had developed.
Finally, in a bizarre marketing concept, these droids are available with exchangable facial plates, allowing them to appear as whatever humanoid race the owner desires (actual features vary by retailer, not all races are available).
